A few months ago, I was praying for our beautiful nation of Australia, when God gave me a vision.

I saw our land, big and red and vast, before me. I could see the coastline, rugged and intricate. I could see the cities, pulsing with energy. I could see our regions, lush and green in places, dry and barren in others. This Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.

Above our nation, I saw a dove; it was the Holy Spirit. This Dove dwarfed our great land; His shadow covered the entire continent. He hovered over us, His wings beating in a steady rhythm. I could hear the beat of His wings, the rush of the wind beneath them, as He hovered, watching, waiting.

And then I heard another sound; the beat of human hearts. They were quiet, but grew in volume by the sheer quantity of people. It was God's Church - but not everyone. The sound I heard were the hearts of those who were in sync with the Spirit; their hearts beating in time with the beating of His wings. I felt God say that these were the men and women who had met God in the secret place - in the place of prayer. As they awoke to prayer, their hearts began to beat in sync with the rhythm of His wings. As more and more of God's people began to pray, the sound of the beating hearts grew louder.

And God said, "This is the air war - the spiritual war that I am calling my people to fight for Australia. We must wage war in the heavenlies, and this is done through prayer. I am awakening my people to pray - but they must be listening to the Holy Spirit, and pray as He leads."

I heard another sound; the thud of boots marching. Again, the sound grew in volume, until the land shook beneath them. It was God's Church - but again, not everyone. Only those who were in sync with the Spirit; their boots marching in time to the beat of His wings. These were the men and women God was raising up across our land to be bold, to declare the truth of the Gospel, to declare the Word of the Lord.

And God said, "This is the ground war - where my people will fight for the future of their nation. This army will bring righteousness into every sphere of society, with wisdom, with courage, and with integrity - but they must be listening to the Holy Spirit, and act as He leads."

God is not done with our nation. The Holy Spirit is hovering over our land. But He is looking for a people who are in tune with Him; whose hearts beat in time with Him, whose boots march in obedience to Him.
