Legacy Building Program - Vision & Heart
As a church called to transform our world with the truth and power of Jesus Christ, we believe God has invited us to build a legacy beyond ourselves. This building program is about creating a home that will serve our city for generations and position Goodlife to continue carrying the good news of Jesus to Newcastle and beyond. God is moving, and it’s time for us to prepare for the harvest.
Why We Need a Home
Our current building in Wickham has served us well, but it is aging and costly to maintain. We need a facility that will serve us for years to come and support the vision God has given us. We dream of a landmark campus that blesses our city and becomes a beacon for the half‑million people living within half an hour of Newcastle. Our Building & Venue team is working hard – meeting with developers, agents, banks and advisors – to explore every option, including whether we should redevelop our current site or sell and buy elsewhere, so that we maximise the value of what God has given us. We’re leaving no stone unturned because we believe God has more in store for this church and our city.
This new home isn’t about bricks and mortar; it’s about enabling our mission. By creating room for people of all ages to encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, find community and step into their God‑given purpose, we will see lives transformed and our world changed. We envision a hub of worship, discipleship and outreach that will reach and bless Newcastle and the surrounding region for generations – all for the glory of God.
Legacy isn’t built overnight; it begins with unswerving trust in God, continues in the daily, weekly and annual rhythms of faithful Goodlifers, and becomes the values we pass on. By investing in this building program, we’re sowing seeds of faith, generosity and love that will become the harvest future generations walk in. This work leaves a spiritual and physical inheritance for our children’s children – a lasting home where they can meet Jesus, grow in community and be launched into their purpose.
